Introduction
DNA Damage Response and Repair Mechanisms
DNA repair was an Integrated Project subsidized by the 6th Framework Programme of the European Union. Its full name was 'DNA Damage Response and Repair Mechanisms'. The project was carried out by a Consortium of 15 scientific institutions: 14 academic and 1 industrial organization. The participants were located in The Netherlands, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Norway, Ireland, and France (see list of participants). The coordination was achieved by the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
The Integrated Project consisted of the following Work Packages:
- WP1: Biochemistry and Structural Biology
- WP2: Cell Biology
- WP3: Generation and Analysis of Model Organisms
- WP4: Systems Biology: Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics
- WP5: From Models to Humans: Human DNA Repair Disorders
- WP6: Dissemination, Communication and Training
- WP7: Management
